The Northwest Elite Baseball Classic between the University of Oregon and Oregon State University, originally scheduled for April 14, 2026, at Hops Ballpark in Hillsboro, has been officially canceled.

The announcement was made on April 24, 2026, by the Hillsboro Hops in conjunction with both university baseball programs. The game, which was set to be the first meeting between the Ducks and Beavers in the Portland metro area in 17 years, will not take place as planned.

According to the Hillsboro Hops, the cancellation affects all tickets purchased through their official platform, and a bulk refund process has been initiated. Refunds are expected to be processed within 10 to 14 business days to the original payment method.

Fans who obtained tickets through secondary market exchanges such as Tickets for Less, StubHub, Vivid Seats, or similar platforms are advised to contact the customer service departments of those respective vendors for refund assistance.

The Northwest Elite Baseball Classic was intended to be a neutral-site contest highlighting one of the nation’s oldest college baseball rivalries, with the first matchup dating back to 1894. Oregon State holds a 197-172 all-time lead in the series, and this would have marked the 370th meeting between the two programs.

Both teams entered the 2026 season ranked in the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches’ poll, with Oregon State at No. 12 and Oregon at No. 23. Each program had advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the preceding five seasons.

The Hops Ballpark, a newly constructed $150-million, 6,000-seat facility in Hillsboro, was set to host its first major college baseball event with this game. The venue remains scheduled to host a future college matchup on May 5, 2026, when Oregon State faces the University of Portland at 5:30 p.m.
