The scale of the‍ devastation in⁢ Himachal Pradesh underscores ⁤the increasing vulnerability of mountain regions to extreme weather events. Climate change is ‍widely believed to be exacerbating monsoon⁤ patterns, leading to more intense rainfall and a higher frequency of landslides and floods.‌ ⁣ Long-term solutions require⁢ a multi-faceted approach, including improved‌ disaster preparedness, robust⁣ infrastructure⁢ development that accounts for ⁣geological risks, and enduring land-use practices.
