The recommendations to the NHA addressed several key areas, including the scope of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Personal Health Records (PHR), unique health identifiers, patient, doctor and provider registries, consent management, and health information exchange (HIE). HIMSS also emphasized the importance of adopting healthcare standards, ensuring a transparent Request for Proposal (RFP) process, and establishing a robust regulatory framework for the national digital health ecosystem.
