Hincapie Brothers Plan Cycling Team Return for 2026
Former US Pro road champion George Hincapie and his brother, Rich Hincapie, are spearheading an effort to launch a new men’s road cycling team, targeting UCI ProTeam registration for international competition in 2026. The Hincapie brothers previously managed the Hincapie Sportswear squad, a Continental-level team, until 2020.
Alex Howes, ty Magner, and Joey Rosskopf, all current or former US road professionals, will share co-director responsibilities for the team.They have already begun selecting riders for the projected 20-member squad, with at least half expected to be American.
A formal announcement with details about the team, including a multi-year commitment from a title sponsor, is anticipated next week. The team is expected to be based in Girona, Spain.
Rosskopf currently serves as a team director with project Echelon Racing. Magner is racing his final road season with L39ION of Los Angeles, while howes competes in off-road events with Cannondale’s support.
