Taiwan Rises to Second Place in Latest WBSC Men’s Baseball World Rankings
The World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced the latest men’s baseball world rankings, with Taiwan rising one place to tie for second place with Mexico. Japan retained its first-place position with 5,756 points, a title it has held since 2018.
The rankings are calculated based on points earned from the 2021 U23 World Cup to this year’s U23 World Cup. Taiwan’s recent victories, including winning the U18 Asian Youth Baseball Championship and securing 8th place in the U23 World Cup, earned the team a total of 4,118 points. This marks the second time since the end of 2022 that Taiwan has returned to second place.
Puerto Rico also made a notable jump in the rankings, rising two places to eighth place after winning the silver medal in the U23 World Cup. This achievement marks the best ranking in the team’s history.
