Mickey Rourke Apologizes After Homophobic⁢ Remarks on Reality Show

Actor‍ reprimanded ⁣for comments directed at Jojo Siwa on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

Mickey Rourke, the 72-year-old actor known for roles in films such as “The Wrestler” and “Sin City,” has issued an apology after receiving a formal‍ warning for using what were deemed “offensive and unacceptable” comments directed toward jojo siwa, 21, during his appearance on the ITV⁢ reality show, “Celebrity Big Brother.”

The incident,⁤ which⁢ has garnered media attention, including⁢ reports from⁣ the BBC, occurred shortly after Rourke ⁢and Siwa entered the “Big Brother” house alongside⁢ eleven other celebrity contestants.

Siwa, a TV and social media personality who‍ has publicly discussed her attraction to ⁣women and the non-binary identity⁣ of her partner, accused Rourke of making‍ homophobic remarks. These included stating he “voted out the lesbian⁢ very quickly” and other comments perceived as denigrating her sexuality.

Following a conversation with Siwa, Rourke reportedly said, “If I⁢ stay here longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”

This led to Rourke ‍being summoned to the “Sync” room, ‍where “Big Brother” officials issued a formal warning.He⁣ was told that ⁤”further language⁤ or behavior of this type can cause you to be ⁣removed from the ‘Big Brother’ house.”

Rourke expressed ‍regret and ⁤appeared to take the warning⁣ seriously. He later apologized to Siwa directly.

“I want to apologize,” Rourke told Siwa.”I have a habit of having⁤ a short fuzz. And I mean nothing about⁣ it… If I didn’t,I wouldn’t ⁣tell you.” Siwa⁣ reportedly⁣ accepted his apology, stating that she appreciated it.

Before his acting career, Rourke ⁤was an amateur boxer. He sustained several injuries, including two broken noses and ⁣a‍ fractured jaw. These injuries, ‍combined with subsequent plastic surgery, considerably altered his facial appearance.
