Pacoima Mourns Loss of Beloved Businesswoman in Devastating House Fire
Pacoima, CA – A tragic house fire early Saturday morning claimed the life of Lesbia Jamileth Pacheco Suazo, a beloved businesswoman adn pillar of the Pacoima community. The blaze, which erupted around 4:36 a.m. at her home on Wakefield Avenue, quickly engulfed the attached structure, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a community in mourning.
Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived to find the home fully ablaze, with heavy fire showing. Despite their valiant efforts to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring homes, Pacheco Suazo was found deceased inside a downstairs bedroom.”When our firefighters arrived, this attached home was wholly engulfed in flames,” said LAFD Captain Adam VanGerpen. “It was a very arduous situation.”
Pacheco Suazo’s husband, José Armando Suazo, managed to escape the inferno along with their elderly mother and 20-year-old son, Christofer Suazo Pacheco. All three were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire and are currently listed in stable condition.
Pacheco Suazo, a 25-year resident of the United States and naturalized citizen originally from La Lima, Cortés, Honduras, was well-known for her entrepreneurial spirit and her successful event decorating buisness in Pacoima. Her untimely death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her.
“She was a very talented and dedicated woman,” said a close friend of the family. “Lesbia brought joy to so many people through her work. This is a tremendous loss for our community.”
The LAFD is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
Remembering Lesbia
The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the Pacoima community, with many expressing their grief and offering condolences to the Suazo family.
“it’s just heartbreaking,” said Sarah, a neighbor of the Suazo family. “Lesbia was such a kind and generous person. She will be deeply missed.”
David,another neighbor,echoed Sarah’s sentiments. “It makes you think about how precious life is and how quickly things can change. It’s a reminder to cherish our loved ones and be grateful for each day.”
