Bxby admitted to feeling the pressure leading up to the performance. “I was definitely really nervous. I was shaking. My hands were like, ‘Oh, my God!’ Becuase it was my first time just doing something like that,” she shared. Though, she expressed immense pride in the outcome, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that went into preparing for the moment.

The success of the BET Awards performance wasn’t accidental. Bxby prioritized meticulous preparation, adopting a disciplined regimen in the days leading up to the event. “I detoxed. I cut off alcohol,” she revealed. “I have really long rehearsals. Just to have muscle memory, as I don’t do choreo, for real. That was my first time doing choreo like that, especially on-camera.” Recognizing the demands of the performance schedule, she also emphasized the importance of rest, ensuring she wasn’t tired when it mattered most.

The momentum continued to build throughout the summer. Following the BET Awards, honey Bxby was named the BET Amplified Artist for July, a program designed to spotlight emerging talent.
