A press conference on the Shenzhou 19 manned mission was held this morning (October 29) at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The spokesman said that in May this year, the selection of my country’s fourth batch of astronauts was completed. A total of 10 preliminary astronauts were finally selected, including 8 space pilots and 2 payload experts, and joined the team to participate in training in August this year.

The spokesperson said that the payload experts in the fourth batch of reserve astronauts are from Hong Kong and Macao. They joined the team on August 8. On the basis of living and training with other astronauts, they have arranged launch missions for Hong Kong and Macao astronauts. Targeted courses such as human spaceflight spirit and Mandarin are also provided, and recipes are scientifically formulated based on their dietary characteristics. At present, two Hong Kong and Macao payload experts have been fully integrated into the team. They are full of enthusiasm for training and in good physical and mental condition.

In the follow-up, training missions in 8 categories and more than 200 subjects will be carried out in an orderly manner, especially for the new characteristics of the fourth batch of astronauts who will not only perform space station missions, but also carry out manned moon landing missions in the future. In terms of training content settings, It not only focuses on basic skills such as life, work and health maintenance in weightlessness, but also masters special skills such as extravehicular activities, equipment maintenance and repair, and space science experiments/experiments. It also focuses on future manned lunar landing missions and further trains astronauts to control aircrafts. to the ability to drive a lunar rover, from celestial body identification to geological research, from weightless floating in space to weight-bearing walking on the moon.
