  • The‍ Observatory will reissue Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 at ​6:20 ⁤pm ⁣today

Strong Wind Signal No. 3 is​ now in force. The Observatory has announced that the Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 will ​be changed to 6:20 pm.

The Observatory stated that at 12 noon, super typhoon ​Capricorn gathered about 380 kilometers south-southeast of Hong⁢ Kong. Typhoon Capricorn has matured. According to current forecasts, Typhoon Capricorn will maintain super typhoon intensity ​and pass about 300⁣ kilometers southwest of Hong Kong ‌early tomorrow morning. It is⁣ expected that related gale force ⁣area will ‌affect the Pearl‍ River Estuary‍ area tonight and tomorrow morning. The wind in Hong Kong will gradually increase and the weather⁣ will turn bad.

The‌ Observatory also said that ⁤the strong rainbands related to Capricorn will gradually affect ​Hong Kong later today. There will be strong winds and ‍heavy ⁢showers tomorrow, and there will be very large waves and swells in the sea. The public is urged ⁣to ​stay away from the shore and stop all water activities.
