Condolences for Tai Po Fire Victims
Xi Jinping extended his condolences to the families of victims of the devastating fire in Tai Po, Hong Kong, which occurred on November 26, 2023, and claimed at least 160 lives, including one firefighter.He described the fire as “heartbreaking” and expressed “deep mourning” for those who died, as reported by South China Morning Post.
As of last Wednesday, December 6, 2023, six people remained missing, and nearly 5,000 residents were displaced due to the fire.
Focus on the 15th Five-Year Plan
During a meeting with John Lee, who is on an annual three-day duty visit to Beijing, Xi Jinping urged Hong Kong to proactively align with the 15th five-year plan (2026-2030).
