Honigman LLP Expands Private Equity Practice with Key Hires
– Honigman LLP has announced the addition of Alexander (Alex) Moss and Injune Park to its Private Equity practice, bolstering the firm’s national presence in the sector. The move signals continued growth for Honigman, a firm increasingly recognized for its work in corporate and private equity law.
Moss and Park join Honigman as partners, bringing with them extensive experience in advising private equity funds, corporations, and management teams on a range of transactions. Details regarding their previous affiliations were not immediately available, but the firm highlighted their expertise as a key factor in their recruitment.
The addition of Moss and Park comes as Honigman continues to invest in its Chicago office and national corporate practice. According to a press release from October 21, 2019, the firm had already attracted eight new lateral partners to its Chicago office in the preceding year. This recent expansion further solidifies Honigman’s commitment to the Midwest market and its ability to compete with larger national and international law firms.
Harris Eisenberg, corporate and private equity partner, has been named Managing Partner of the Chicago office, and Alex Plakas has been appointed as Co-leader of the Private Equity Group. These internal promotions are part of the firm’s strategic plan to enhance its reputation and transaction volume, according to David Foltyn, Honigman chair and CEO.
“The strategic expansion aligns with the firm’s forward-looking priorities and positive growth trajectory, as we look to further establish Honigman as a nationally recognized law firm,” Foltyn said in the 2019 press release. “In just a few short years, we have nearly tripled the number of lawyers in the Chicago office and continue to attract some of the most talented private equity practitioners in the country. Elevating Harris and Alex was an integral part of our plan to further enhance our reputation as a highly sophisticated firm with a transaction volume that rivals the largest national and international law firms.”
Honigman’s success in the private equity and M&A sectors is reflected in its national rankings. As of 2019, the firm was ranked fourth “Most Active PE Firm” and fifth “Most Active M&A” in the US by PitchBook. The firm’s attorneys possess a broad range of knowledge, with experience in over 60 legal areas and industries, and are focused on providing comprehensive client service.
The firm’s capabilities extend beyond traditional legal services, encompassing areas such as data security, captive insurance, and cybersecurity. Honigman attorneys also provide counsel on labor and employment matters, intellectual property, antitrust issues, and immigration law.
Recent publications from Honigman attorneys demonstrate the firm’s thought leadership in emerging legal areas. Danielle F. Bass, Annie L. Dreisbach, and Stephanie Baar authored an article in July 2025, titled “Mitigating Risk in the Influencer Economy: A Legal Guide to Avoiding FTC Penalties for Brand Partners,” addressing the legal considerations for brands working with social media influencers. Steven M. Wernikoff also published an article in June 2025, “Countdown to Compliance: Navigating the DOJ and PADFAA Frameworks on Sensitive Data Transfers to Foreign Adversaries,” focusing on data security and national security risks.
The firm continues to attract attention for its legal expertise. Kimberly A. Dudek was recently recognized as one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ Notable Women in Law. Honigman’s attorneys are frequently quoted in leading publications, including The Detroit News, CU Daily, and Lexology Pro, providing insights on a variety of legal and business topics.
The addition of Moss and Park represents a significant step in Honigman’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its private equity practice and solidify its position as a leading law firm in the United States.
