In Noardeast-Fryslân, water levels are significantly elevated. Pier Schaper from Wetterskip Fryslân reports that the water is particularly high in the northern parts of the region, specifically from Drachten to Harlingen.
Current Situation:
- In Dokkum, water levels are much higher than usual, leading to unusual circumstances.
- Pumping stations are operating at full capacity to drain water quickly.
- Storm Bert caused strong winds last weekend, impacting Fryslân’s weather. The wind has blown water from the southern areas toward the north.
Future Expectations:
- The pumping station in Lemmer will remain active on Tuesday.
- More rainfall is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, and the pumping station may need to keep running depending on the rainfall amounts.
