World Fisheries Day 2024: Promoting Sustainable Fisheries and ‍Healthy Ocean Ecosystems

The Ministry of Fisheries will organize activities on Le ⁤Morne public beach as part of this​ world day which takes place every November 21.

Importance of​ World Fisheries Day

The Cabinet has⁢ identified the organization of activities in the context of World Fisheries Day 2024, which is celebrated on 21 November each year, with the aim‌ of drawing attention⁢ to the vital importance of healthy ocean ecosystems and ensuring⁣ sustainable ⁤stocks of fisheries in the world.

Activities on Le Morne Public Beach

The Ministry‌ of⁣ the Green Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, in collaboration ⁢with ‌the⁢ Fishermen’s Welfare⁢ Fund, ‍would organize⁤ the ‌following activities on ⁤Le Morne Public Beach:

  • Inter-religious‌ prayers;
  • A wreath-laying ceremony;
  • A⁢ parade by the National Coast Guard.
