Shanxi Province Rural Basketball Cultural Exhibition Event

From October 31st to November 5th, the six-day Dadi Liucai·2024 Shanxi Province Rural Basketball (Village BA) cultural performance event was held in Qinyuan County, enriching the cultural life of farmers and promoting the construction of harmonious rural areas.

The rural basketball cultural exhibition activity is part of the “Colorful Land – Shanxi Rural Culture Revitalization in Action” series, jointly launched by the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles. This initiative aims to enhance farmers’ awareness of fitness through basketball games and supporting activities, enriching rural sports life and creating a strong atmosphere of concern for livable, industrial, and beautiful rural construction.

Hosted by the Provincial Agricultural Radio and Television School, the Provincial Farmers Sports Association, the Changzhi Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, the Qinyuan County People’s Government, and the Qinyuan County Basketball Association, the event brought together over 100 farmer-athletes from 10 teams across 9 cities in the province. The competition showcased the new style of farmers in the new era, with the audience cheering and supporting their favorite teams.

In addition to the basketball tournament, the event featured agricultural product exhibitions, local food tastings, and modern agricultural sightseeing. These activities allowed participating team members and spectators to better understand and appreciate rural development while experiencing the charm of sports. The event successfully promoted health through competition, tourism, sales, and business.

The event’s success demonstrates the potential of rural sports events to promote rural revitalization and improve the lives of farmers. By combining sports with cultural and economic activities, the event created a unique and engaging experience for participants and spectators alike.
