Hong Kong Basketball Association Introduces FIBA Youth Training Courses to Cultivate Talents
The Hong Kong Basketball Association has announced its cooperation with the “FIBA China Region” to establish the “Hong Kong Youth Basketball and Youth Training Development Program”. This program aims to introduce the curriculum concept, training model, and methods of FIBA (International Basketball Federation) China Youth Training, making the training more systematic and further improving the professional level.
The “Hong Kong, China Mini Basketball and Youth Training Development Program” will cover U6, U8, U10 mini basketball mixed boys and girls groups, U12 and U14 boys and girls groups. At each age stage, basic basketball skills and application methods suitable for that age group will be taught, enabling young players to use these skills under the conditions of physical, mental, and physical limitations.
Program Aims to Improve Local Youth Training Structure
In the long run, when the number of participants and skills of the youth training development program reach a certain level, the Basketball Association will conduct an open selection across Hong Kong, and then set up a development team for training. This team will organize Hong Kong, China children and youth basketball teams at each age level, with the goal of participating in mini basketball competitions and activities in the Mainland or neighboring regions in the future.
Mok Yiu Keung: Committed to Improving Hong Kong Basketball
Mok Yiu Keung, Honorary President, Executive Vice President, and Head Coach of the Hong Kong Basketball Team, emphasized the Basketball Association’s commitment to promoting and improving basketball in Hong Kong.
