A Hoover City Schools employee was arrested and charged with distribution of obscene material in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit, according to multiple local news reports.
Darrell W. Alldredge, 51, of Odenville, was taken into custody on Thursday, April 24, 2026, after being identified as a operations department employee at Hoover High School. He was arrested on two counts of dissemination of obscene matter following the execution of a search warrant by state investigators.
According to court documents referenced in the reports, the alleged obscene material involved two juvenile victims, one under the age of 16 and another under the age of 3. Hoover City Schools confirmed that Alldredge was immediately placed on administrative leave and barred from all district properties following the arrest.
The district stated it is cooperating fully with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency as the investigation continues, emphasizing that there is no indication any students were involved or that school safety was compromised.
Alldredge was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. The arrest occurred in the 1000 block of Buccaneer Drive in Hoover, which property records indicate is owned by Hoover City Schools.
The case remains under active investigation by state authorities, with additional details expected to be released as the legal process proceeds.
