ASEAN Humanitarian Aid Reaches Vietnam After Typhoon Yagi
The ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disasters (AHA Center) has provided critical relief supplies to Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces in Vietnam, supporting local communities affected by Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3).
Between September 13 and 14, three batches of humanitarian aid arrived at Noi Bai Airport, as part of the AHA Center’s response plan to alleviate the consequences of the typhoon.
The relief goods, gathered at the Subang Warehouse of the AHA Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, include essential items such as:
- 2,000 household kits
- 1,000 evacuation repair kits
- 1,000 kitchenware sets
- 3,000 personal hygiene kits
With a total value of approximately 250,000 USD, these supplies aim to provide vital assistance to those affected by the typhoon.
Upon arrival, the shipment was promptly received by the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (VCDM) and transported to affected areas, including Yen Bai province and Lao Cai city, for distribution to local communities.
