Hope for South Sudan: Excessive-Stage Peace Convention in Rome Sparks Dialogue Amidst Civil Strife
A high-level convention was held in Rome between August 12-14, 2024, below the auspices of the Society of Sant Egidio in Rome, which works for world peace. The purpose was to unfold hope of peace to South Sudan.

A high-level convention was organized with the purpose of holding the torch of hope burning for peace in South Sudan, which is within the grip of civil strife.
The convention was held in Rome from 12-14 (12-14/08/24) below the auspices of the Sant Egidio Society in Rome, which works for world peace.
Ambassador Albino Aboug as Particular Consultant of South Sudan, a delegation of armed teams and opposition events led by Thomas Cirillo and representatives of the Authorities of Kenya participated in it. The Kenyan delegation included Common Lazarus Zumbaivwo, who leads the “Tumaini Peace Initiative” which has been ongoing since Could in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
This was the primary assembly in months between the federal government of South Sudan and the leaders of the opposition events. All of the events have expressed their want to proceed on the trail of debate and cope with totally different factors of view by means of compromise and session as the one resolution to the political disaster gripping the nation.
