Search for Arjun and Missing Persons Continues in Shirur
The search operation with the dredger will resume today to locate Arjun and other missing individuals in Shirur. The district administration has extended the contract with the dredging company by a week to ensure a thorough search.
The Navy will join the search efforts today, and additional points will be checked with the dredge. Retired Major General M. Indrabalan will arrive in Shirur today to participate in the search operation.
A bone discovered during the search has been sent to the forensic laboratory in Mangalore for examination. The bone was found in the area where Laxman Naik’s tea shop was located, and it is suspected to be human. The skeleton was found before the search ended yesterday and was brought to the shore, with the district administration informed accordingly.
There is also a suspicion that the bone is part of a hand. If confirmed to be a human bone, the results will be available by this afternoon, and it will be sent for a DNA test.
Search Operation Details
Three people, including Arjun, are still missing in Shirur. According to M Indrabalan, there will be no radar survey, and the results of previous surveys will be used for the search. The dredging process makes the search more challenging.
