Foreign Man Arrested for Alleged Rape of 3-Year-Old Girl in Phuket

A disturbing incident has shaken the community in Phuket, Thailand, where a foreign man has been accused of raping a 3-year-old girl.

Date: 23 September 2024 – A report was filed by Ms. Somwang (surname withheld), a 51-year-old woman, along with a psychologist from Vachira Hospital Phuket, with Police Lieutenant Colonel Warawut Sensob, Inspector (Investigation), Chalong Police Station, Phuket Province.

According to Ms. Somwang, on September 22, she returned to her rental house on Rawai Beach Road and found a 3-year-old girl lying on the sofa. An unidentified foreign man was sitting next to the girl, who complained of genital pain. It was later discovered that the foreign man had taken the girl to the bathroom for a shower and put Pampers on her.

Upon further investigation, Ms. Somwang found blood on the Pampers, prompting her to take the girl to Rawai Sub-District Health Promotion Hospital. She then reported the incident to Chalong Police Station to pursue legal action against the alleged perpetrator.

The investigators have begun questioning the victim and are working to gather evidence to bring the offender to justice. The suspect faces charges of committing an indecent act against a child under the age of thirteen, using violent force, and invading the child’s genitals or anus with an object or organ other than the genitals.
