Syrian Singer Hossam Junaid Refuses to Apologize to Lebanese Artists

Syrian singer Hossam Junaid has refused to apologize to Lebanese artists after attacking them in a video he posted on social media. In the video, Junaid suggested that his comments were just a “lapse” or “slip of the tongue.”

Junaid has been a prominent figure in the music industry for 15 years and claims that he has not wronged anyone during that time. He also stated that many Lebanese artists love him and his work, and that his name should have been mentioned specifically so that everyone would not be angered by his comments.

After the video clip and his insulting statements about the artists went viral, Junaid posted another video in which he apologized and confirmed that the people of Syria and Lebanon are one. He also stated that he meant to target someone who is deliberately fighting them.

Junaid Sets Condition for Public Apology

Regarding requests for an apology from Farid Bou Said, head of the Syndicate of Music and Singing Professionals of Lebanon, Junaid indicated that he had the highest respect for him and that he had the right to protect his country’s artists. However, Junaid set a condition for the public apology to his colleagues, which is that media personalities and many artists who have angered Syria and Syrian refugees must apologize.

Junaid stressed that he is ready for the consequences of this refusal and pointed out that the Syrian people and viewers who love him are demanding that he not apologize. He also stated that he will not apologize if it means he can sit in a common shop with his children.

Lebanese Musicians Syndicate Rejects Junaid’s Statement

The Lebanese Musicians Syndicate issued a statement in which it rejected Hossam Junaid’s statement insulting Lebanese artists, demanding that he publicly apologize for the statement. The syndicate also stated that Junaid’s comments were unacceptable and that he must take responsibility for his actions.

Junaid’s Attack on Lebanese Singers

Singer Hossam Junaid attacked Lebanese singers, suggesting that Syria had favored them and demanding that they not forget this favor. Junaid appeared in a video posted on his official account on social media, in which he attacked Lebanese singers, saying: “The shooting of Syria is preferable to all of you without exception.”

Junaid also noted that one of his concerts in Lebanon was canceled because a singer who mentioned his name denied it. This incident sparked a heated debate between Junaid and the Lebanese music industry, with many artists calling for him to apologize for his comments.
