Hot Milk Confronts US Politics in New Single ‘The American Machine’
Updated June 17, 2025
Hot Milk has released “The American Machine,” a direct commentary on the current political and social climate in the United States. The track follows the release of their previous singles, “Swallow This” and “Insubordinate Ingerland.”
Vocalist Han Mee addressed the themes explored in “The American Machine,” stating the increasing difficulty in viewing the world positively, notably concerning what she described as hazardous rhetoric emanating from the U.S.
“It is tough to love the world right now on the global stage. The imperialistic and dangerous rhetoric coming out the USA cannot be ignored…This song is not anti-American, it is anti-arsehole, anti-hate, anti-oligarch… We do not want a piece of the American machine.”
Mee added that despite these concerns, hope remains, believing that common sense and goodness still exist within the U.S.
Hot Milk’s new album, ‘Corporation P.O.P.,’ is scheduled for release on June 27 via Music For Nations.
