Houston Astros’ Minute Maid Park to Become Daikin Park in 2025
The Houston Astros‘ home stadium will change its name next season. Minute Maid Park, named since 2002, will be called Daikin Park starting in the 2025 season.
Daikin, a global air conditioning manufacturer based in Osaka, Japan, has a significant presence in Houston. The company employs over 10,000 people in the area and has invested more than $1 billion in the region, including $500 million in the Daikin Texas Technology Park. In August 2024, Daikin began a partnership with Houston to provide advanced air conditioning and heating solutions for low-to-moderate income homes.
The naming rights deal will last until the end of the 2039 season. Team owner Jim Crane expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the shared values of community support and excellence between the Astros and Daikin.
Previously, the ballpark was called Enron Field and briefly renamed Astros Field. Minute Maid secured a $100 million naming rights deal in 2002, which was set to last until at least 2030. However, Minute Maid will continue to partner with the team without retaining naming rights.
