Houthi Threatens Israel with Attacks if Gaza Ceasefire is Breached
Kelompok Houthi, yang berkuasa di Yaman, mengatakan pihaknya akan memantau penerapan kesepakatan gencatan senjata antara Israel dan Hamas di Jalur Gaza. Houthi mengancam akan melanjutkan serangannya terhadap kapal-kapal atau Israel, jika gencatan senjata Gaza dilanggar.
Houthi selama ini menargetkan kapal-kapal yang berlayar di perairan dekat pantai Yaman dengan rudal balistik dan drone untuk menunjukkan solidaritas terhadap Palestina.
Kelompok yang didukung Iran ini telah sejak lama mengatakan akan menghentikan serangannya jika perang di Jalur Gaza diakhiri.

Gencatan senjata antara Israel dan Hamas, yang selama 15 bulan terakhir bertempur di Jalur Gaza, akan mulai berlaku pada Minggu (19/1) mendatang, selama enam pekan ke depan yang juga melibatkan pembebasan para sandera yang tersisa.
“Kami akan terus memantau perkembangan di Palestina selama tiga hari sebelum berlakunya perjanjian Gaza. Jika pembantaian Israel terus berlanjut, kami akan melanjutkan operasi kami,” ucap pemimpin Houthi, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, dalam pidato yang disiarkan televisi setempat, seperti dilansir Reuters, Jumat (17/1/2025).
“Pada tahap apa pun ketika agresi (Israel) menyimpang dari perjanjian, kami akan siap memberikan dukungan militer kepada saudara-saudara kami di Palestina,” tegas al-Houthi dalam pernyataannya.
Houthi telah melancarkan lebih dari 100 serangan terhadap kapal-kapal yang berlayar di perairan Laut Merah dan Teluk Aden sejak November 2023. Kelompok ini juga telah menenggelamkan dua kapal, menyita satu kapal lainnya, dan menewaskan empat pelaut.
