Houthi Vows to Continue Attacks on Israel Despite Hezbollah Ceasefire
Sanaa – Houthi Rebels Continue Attacks on Israel
The Houthi rebel group has announced that it will continue its attacks against Israel, despite a ceasefire agreement reached by its ally, Hizbullah, in Lebanon. The ceasefire began on Wednesday morning, but both sides have accused each other of violating the terms.
Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi stated, “It is important to continue what has been achieved in Lebanon and to escalate further, especially from Iraq and Yemen.” He made this declaration on the Al-Masirah television channel, reported by AFP and Al Arabiya.
Al-Houthi emphasized that operations from Yemen to support the Palestinian people will keep going, using missiles and drones against Israel. He mentioned recent bombing operations that targeted Ashqelon, Negev’s Nevatim Airbase, and the city of Eilat.
The Houthi group, part of an alliance with Iran against Israel and the United States, has launched drone and missile attacks on Israel since the war erupted in Gaza last October. Additionally, they regularly disrupt shipping routes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, attacking vessels passing through these critical waters.
Al-Houthi encouraged military personnel and the public to recognize their responsibilities, expressing hope for further actions against Israel. He stated, “We are doing our best from the Yemen front to support the Palestinian people.”
