Howard University Honors Bob Iger, Rosalind G. Brewer, Antoine Garibaldi, and Richard Smallwood with Honorary Doctorates on May 9

Howard University will confer honorary doctorate degrees on four distinguished individuals during its 158th Commencement Convocation on May 9, 2026, including former Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger.

The university announced that Iger will be honored alongside Rosalind G. Brewer, Antoine Garibaldi, Ph.D., and Richard L. Smallwood (posthumously) for their significant contributions across business, education, and culture.

Each recipient has demonstrated measurable impact in their respective fields, with the university noting that this year’s class reflects leadership spanning multiple industries and generations.
