Huawei is making waves again with the launch of the Pura X, a new clamshell foldable smartphone.Unlike typical flip phones, the Pura X boasts a wider 16:10 screen ratio, setting it apart from competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Oppo Find N Flip.

Larger Screens Define the Pura X Experience

the device features a 6.3-inch Foldable LTPO2 OLED main screen with a resolution of 1320×2120 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate.A punch-hole at the top of the screen houses a 10-megapixel selfie camera.

The cover screen is also notably larger than those found on other flip phones. The 3.5-inch LTPO2 OLED panel, with a 980×980 resolution, allows users to access various functions without fully opening the device. According to Gizmochina, the cover display has a 1:1 aspect ratio.

The Huawei Pura X is equipped with a triple rear camera system:

While Huawei has not officially disclosed the chipset used in the Pura X, the device offers up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 terabyte of internal storage. This configuration should ensure smooth performance for multitasking and ample data storage.

The Pura X is powered by a 4720 mAh battery, supporting 66-watt fast charging via cable and 40-watt wireless charging.

HarmonyOS 5.0

The Pura X runs on HarmonyOS 5.0, Huawei’s proprietary operating system. Unlike Android phones, it does not support Google Mobile Services (GMS) and relies on the Huawei AppGallery for its submission ecosystem.

The device also includes Xiaoyi,an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance user experience through features like navigation and voice commands.

Durability and Connectivity

The smartphone features an IPX8 rating, making it waterproof up to 2 meters for 30 minutes. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7,Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and satellite communication, ensuring users can stay connected even in areas with limited signal coverage.

Pricing and Availability

The Huawei Pura X is available in black, white, and silver. Special editions include Pattern Green and Pattern Red options. According to GSM Arena, prices in China start at CNY 7499 (approximately $1,035 or €955) for the base model.
