Huawei Connect 2024 Paris Event Summary
Huawei hosted its annual flagship event, HUAWEI CONNECT 2024, in Paris on November 14, 2024. The event attracted thousands of guests, including industry leaders, technical experts, and partners, who discussed how digital technology can boost Europe’s green and digital transitions.
Ken Hu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, opened the event, stating, “Huawei has been working side-by-side with our European customers and partners for more than 20 years.” He emphasized the company’s dedication to innovation and collaboration to achieve a greener, intelligent future and mentioned their TECH4ALL initiative, which has helped over 80,000 people gain digital skills in Europe.
During the gala dinner, Jim Lu, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei’s European Region, introduced the first-ever Industry Pioneer Award. This award recognized customers and partners who collaborated with Huawei on innovative projects. Lu remarked on the rapid development of AI and industrial intelligence, highlighting the importance of collaboration.
Michael Ma, Corporate Vice President at Huawei, delivered a keynote speech on how ICT innovation can drive digital transformation in Europe. He discussed Huawei’s commitment to investing in leading ICT products and solutions and noted the importance of digital infrastructure for transformation.
Ma outlined five key innovative products and solutions:
- High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus solution
- DCN solution for disaster-recovery data centers
- “One lake, three pools” data strategy
- Ultra-high-speed data center interconnect (DCI)
- Multilayer Ransomware Protection (MRP) solution
Ma also mentioned Huawei’s partnerships that led to over 30 scenario-based solutions for various sectors, including government, education, and healthcare. He promised continued support for partners to help European enterprises succeed in digital transformation.
The event also featured speakers from various sectors, including Pascal Terrien from the International Electrotechnical Commission, Cillian O’Donoghue from Eurelectric, and representatives from UNESCO and LVMH Group. They shared insights on Europe’s twin transitions, contributing to the rich discussions at the gathering.
