The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, the world’s first 3-fold smartphone, has been making waves in the tech industry. Although the official website and press conference didn’t reveal the processor model, netizens have shared their test results on Weibo, shedding light on the undisclosed processor model. It appears that the Mate XT uses the same Kirin 9010 processor as the Pura70 series.
Kirin 9010 Processor: A Closer Look
The Kirin 9010 processor boasts an 8-core CPU, comprising 1 large Taishan 2.3GHz core, 3 medium Taishan 2.18GHz cores, and 4 small Cortex-A510 1.55GHz cores. The Maleoon 910 MP4 processor handles image processing, while the GPU ensures seamless performance. With a total of 12 threads and 8 cores, the Kirin 9010 is produced by SMIC, China’s largest chip manufacturer, using their 7 nm process technology.
Performance: A Mixed Bag
Despite being equipped with Huawei’s top-of-the-line Kirin 9010 processor, the Mate XT’s performance is only on par with the mid-to-high MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor. This has left some users disappointed, especially considering the phone’s hefty price tag of US$3,000. Foreign website GSMArena pointed out that the actual performance is closer to a US$300 phone.
