Mate 70 Pro Spotted Ahead of Launch with New Camera Details”>Huawei Mate 70 Series Launches with New Features
Huawei held a press conference for the Mate 70 series in Chaoyang Heshenghui, Beijing. The event attracted a large crowd eager to see the new phones. The Mate 70 series includes four models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS.
All models feature a symmetrical camera design and side fingerprint recognition. They are built with second-generation Kunlun glass and a high-gloss titanium body for improved durability. Each new phone boasts a 50-megapixel main camera with variable aperture. Most models use the new Kirin 9020 chip, except for the Mate 70, which uses an older chip.
A key feature of the Mate 70 series is the “Satellite Paging” function. This technology allows quick satellite connections, taking only 9 seconds to connect and 0.7 seconds for low latency. Users maintain an online connection even in remote areas, representing a significant advancement for Huawei.
The series also introduces “AI teleportation.” This feature enables the phone to recognize user gestures. Users can transfer images or screenshots to another compatible device simply by grabbing and releasing in the air. This function enhances convenience during meetings or social gatherings.
Pre-orders for the Mate 70 series reached 3.36 million, with prices starting at RMB 5,499. Although the phones launched without the latest native Hongmeng version, plans are in place to integrate it in future models. Yu Chengdong announced that from 2025, all new Huawei devices will ship with the native Hongmeng system.
Additionally, Huawei unveiled the Mate X6 foldable phone, which features a “touch and pay” function in cooperation with Alipay, speeding up the payment process by 30%. The Mate 70 starts at RMB 5,499, the Mate 70 Pro begins at RMB 11,999, and the Mate X6 starts at RMB 12,999. Appointment purchases are currently required, and waiting times are unpredictable.
Yu Chengdong also revealed the “Zunjie S800,” a luxury sedan developed by Hongmeng Smart. Set to launch next year, it is projected to cost between 1 million and 1.5 million yuan, aiming to surpass the luxury of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Huawei has delivered 500,000 vehicles powered by Hongmeng Smart in 32 months.
