Allegations of Surgical Error
New reports from TMZ indicate that an occupational therapist present at Hogan’s home at the time of his death informed responding law enforcement officers that medical malpractice may have contributed to his passing. According to a police report, currently under seal, the therapist alleged that Hogan’s phrenic nerve-crucial for breathing-was severed during a recent surgical procedure. It remains unclear whether this occurred during a heart procedure or a separate neck operation Hogan underwent in May.
Law enforcement sources suggest that this exchange was perhaps captured on police body camera footage, and subsequent discussions among officers regarding the therapist’s claims may also be recorded.
Complications and Confirmed Nerve Damage

Speaking on the Bubba the Love sponge radio show, Brooke voiced concerns about her stepmother, Sky Daily’s, potential connections to Scientology and expressed apprehension about potential conflicts with the organization, as well as with her mother, Linda Hogan, regarding estate matters.
What is the Phrenic Nerve and Why is Damage So Serious?
The phrenic nerve is a crucial component of the respiratory system.Originating in the neck, it travels down to the diaphragm, the primary muscle responsible for breathing.Damage to this nerve can lead to diaphragm paralysis, resulting in shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and,in severe cases, respiratory failure. Surgical procedures in the neck or chest area carry a risk of phrenic nerve injury, highlighting the importance of meticulous surgical technique and careful monitoring post-operation.
