“A Human Without God Can Become a Beast”

Around 150 people joined the parents of Fabiana Sirino, age 8, in a march today to demand justice and clarity regarding the brutal murder that has shocked the town of 25 de Mayo. The demonstrators gathered silently in front of the local police station, holding signs and banners, their grief palpable.

Pastor Carlos Lengert addressed the crowd, stating, “The pain is great, the indignation is tremendous over what happened to this little girl.” He added, “A human without God can become a beast.” He urged attendees to seek strength from God to endure this difficult time.

Pastor Emiliano Torres from IERP emphasized the importance of community support for Fabiana’s family. He stated, “What we are doing today is showing that the family is not alone.”

Omar Wdowin, the town mayor, expressed the difficulty of finding words in such a moment. He stated, “We must seek justice. We have been supporting the family and visiting them alongside the provincial attorney to ensure this matter is clarified.” He noted that the turnout demonstrates the community’s concern and desire to prevent such tragedies in the future.

As time passes, more details of the case are emerging, leaving the community in shock. Fabiana’s mother recounted an interview where her daughters found Fabiana gravely injured and ran to get their father. Upon arrival, Fabiana accused a man named Nanico of the attack, saying, “Nanico did this to me.”

Fabiana’s father confirmed her accusation, recalling that even while badly hurt, she identified Nanico. This man had visited their home shortly before the incident, selling a machete and a flashlight. Initially an unsuspected presence, his behavior after the attack raised suspicion, leading to his arrest by police.

Investigators are still gathering evidence and waiting for the autopsy results to determine Fabiana’s cause of death and if there was any sexual assault. The family is calling for justice for their daughter and all children affected by violence. Fabiana’s mother, in anguish, stated, “I cannot comprehend how someone could commit such evil against an innocent 8-year-old with her whole life ahead of her. She identified her attacker and suffered in pain, telling her father, ‘Look at me, I am going to die.'” She concluded, “We will have to accept living without her, but I ask for justice.”
