Idaho State Police Assist in Pursuit, Arrest Two on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Two individuals were arrested on February 3, 2026, following a pursuit that began in Bingham County and concluded in Idaho Falls, according to the Idaho State Police. The incident began when the Idaho Falls Police Department requested assistance while attempting to serve a warrant on a vehicle at a rest area near milepost 101 on Interstate 15.
Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver fled northbound on Interstate 15. Despite the deployment of spike strips, the vehicle continued traveling on three flat tires. The driver briefly exited and re-entered the interstate, eventually running a stoplight and leaving the roadway before coming to a stop in a nearby parking lot.
Following the vehicle’s immobilization, the driver attempted to flee on foot. A Taser was deployed by Idaho State Police, leading to the driver’s apprehension. During the pursuit, narcotics were reportedly thrown from the vehicle, and these substances have since been recovered.
The driver now faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, destruction of evidence, and felony eluding, as well as an active warrant out of Bingham County. The passenger was also arrested and is charged with trafficking fentanyl.
The Idaho Falls Police Department is continuing the investigation into this matter, and will release further details as appropriate.
