I-294 Crash: Fatal Motorcycle-Semi Accident – Western Springs, IL

Lanes on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) in the western suburbs were closed Tuesday after a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a semi-truck, Illinois State Police said.

The crash occurred about 11:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-294 at milepost 26.75 in Western Springs. ISP confirmed the two-unit crash was fatal, but did not provide further details on victims.

As of 12 p.m., the crash scene remained active, ISP said, with two right lanes closed. TrafficNet reported delays backing up as far as North Avenue.
