Blue Island, IL – A multi-vehicle rollover crash has brought southbound traffic on I-57 to a standstill Tuesday morning, leaving at least one person injured and prompting a detour.
The incident occurred around 5:18 a.m. south of 127th Street and Calumet Park, according to Illinois State Police.
“Officers responded to reports of a multi-unit crash wiht injuries,” an ISP spokesperson said. “As of 6:20 a.m., all southbound lanes remain closed.”
Motorists are being diverted off I-57 at 127th Street.
The cause of the crash is currently under inquiry. Emergency responders remain on scene.
