Expert to address Cancer Epigenomics and Big Data
Dr. zdenko Herceg, Head of the Epigenomics and Mechanisms Branch at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), will deliver a keynote address at the 10th Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences, taking place October 15-17, 2025, in Beijing, China.
Dr. Herceg’s presentation, “Cancer Epigenomics: Unravelling Molecular Mechanisms to Advance Treatment and Prevention,” will explore the impact of environmental and lifestyle factors on cancer risk through epigenomic changes – a core focus of IARC’s research.
The keynote is scheduled for Friday, October 17, from 13:30-14:15 China Standard Time.
International Collaboration in Biomedical data Science
The Big Data Forum will convene leading biomedical data scientists to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by big data in life and health sciences, with a particular emphasis on cancer research.
This event underscores the growing collaboration between IARC and China. In April 2025, a delegation from the National Genomics Data Center (NGDC), part of the China National center for Bioinformation (CNCB), visited IARC to explore cooperative initiatives. This forum provides a valuable chance to strengthen these partnerships in big data and cancer research, as detailed on the Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences conference website.
