The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a significant increase in prize money for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, with the winning team set to receive USD 2.34 lakh (approximately Rs. 20 crores).
The total prize money for teams participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup is $7,958,080, a 134% increase from the previous season. This move aims to elevate the Women’s T20 World Cup as one of the main events, according to the ICC.

Prize Money Breakdown
- Winning team: USD 2.34 lakh (approximately Rs. 20 crores)
- Second place: $1.17 million
- Semi-finalists: $675,000 each
- Teams entering the group stage: $112,500 each
- Teams finishing in fifth to eighth place: $270,000 each
- Ninth and tenth place teams: $135,000 each
The ICC’s decision to increase the prize money is aimed at supporting all teams participating in the World Cup. The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will be held between October 3 and 20 in Dubai and Sharjah.
