The ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia Allentown office,along with federal partners,carried out the inspection on June 11. The individuals arrested included 13 Venezuelans, two Mexicans, one Ecuadorian, and one Nicaraguan, according to ICE.

The arrested individuals were part of a crew restoring the apartment building following a fire in May,according to local news reports. ICE stated that a subcontractor provided the workers,and the building is currently unoccupied.
Edward Owens, Special Agent in Charge of HSI Philadelphia, emphasized the importance of worksite compliance. “Ensuring worksite compliance is a fundamental duty of HSI,” Owens said.
