Central Iowa’s water trails received a meaningful boost thanks to the first ICONic Riverfest. The event, a regional volunteer initiative, successfully raised nearly $25,000 to further ICON water Trails’ mission. This mission focuses on improving the quality,safety,and overall enjoyment of the region’s waterways. The funds raised will directly support these goals.
Approximately 140 volunteers pitched in at 11 locations across the ICON network. Their efforts resulted in the removal of 560 pounds of debris and 15 trailer loads of invasive species,considerably enhancing the health and accessibility of the water trails.
