IDF Strikes Houthi Military Infrastructure in Yemen’s Hudaydah Port
The israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a significant operation targeting and dismantling military infrastructure belonging to the Houthi movement in the Yemeni port city of Hudaydah. The IDF stated on Telegram that the strikes were aimed at “terrorist infrastructures” and specifically mentioned the destruction of engineering vehicles, fuel containers, and military vessels.
IDF Details Houthi military Assets Targeted
According to a press release from the IDF, the targeted assets included:
Engineering Vehicles: Thes were reportedly used for restoring port infrastructure, indicating an effort to disrupt Houthi capabilities in maintaining and utilizing the port.
Fuel Containers: The destruction of fuel containers suggests an attempt to degrade the logistical and operational capacity of the Houthi forces.
Military Ships: Vessels used for “military and attacking activities against the state of Israel and ships in the maritime area adjacent to the port” were also hit. This highlights the IDF’s focus on neutralizing threats to maritime security and Israeli interests.
Further Terror Infrastructures: The IDF also reported striking additional facilities used by the Houthi movement for their operations.
Defense Minister katz Issues Stern Warning to Yemen and Tehran
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a strong statement following the operation, drawing a parallel between the fate of Yemen and that of Tehran. “The fate of yemen will be the same as Tehran,” Katz declared in a released note. He emphasized that the Houthi forces would face severe consequences for their missile launches against Israel.
“The Houthi will pay a high price for launching missiles against the state of israel,” Katz stated. “We will continue to act at any time and anywhere to defend the state of Israel.” the Defense Minister confirmed that Israel’s defense forces are actively targeting “terrorist objectives of the Houthi terrorist regime at the port of Hodeida” and are resolute in preventing any attempts to rebuild their operational capabilities.
The IDF’s actions underscore a firm stance against what it terms “terrorist infrastructures” and a commitment to safeguarding national security interests in the region.
