Asian Youth Climbing Stars Shine at 2025 Championships in Guiyang, China
The guizhou Caihu international Climbing centre in Guiyang, China, played host to the 2025 IFSC Asian Youth Championships from August 20th to 24th, showcasing the rising talent in Asian climbing. Over 211 young athletes, representing 14 countries and regions, competed in the disciplines of Speed, Lead, and Boulder at the Under-17 and under-19 levels.
Beyond the competition, the event fostered a valuable surroundings for cultural exchange and collaboration among the young climbers. The success of the championships further solidifies Guiyang’s position as a premier destination for international climbing events, demonstrating the city’s strong organizational capabilities and world-class facilities.
Japan dominated the medal standings, finishing with an extraordinary haul of six gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals.China secured second place with three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals. Strong performances were also delivered by athletes from South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand, adding to the dynamic and competitive spirit of the championships.
