Ikea India Targets Profitability Within Two Years,Sees Growth in Online Sales
Ikea India is focused on becoming profitable within the next two years while expanding its reach and affordability for Indian consumers. The company is investing in its business and workforce to achieve this goal, aiming to contribute to the growth of the Indian home furnishing market.
This year, Ikea India expanded its presence by entering the online channel and the North indian market. According to a press release,the company aims to make home furnishing “more affordable,accessible,and enduring for the many peopel.”
Growth Driven by Online sales and New Store Formats
Murali Iyer, chief financial officer at Ikea india, reported a 34% increase in online sales. The company’s expansion into North India through online channels, coupled with the introduction of new store formats in Delhi and bangalore, has proven triumphant. Ikea India served approximately 110 million customers across all channels in fiscal year 2025 (The Economic Times).
While the company did not disclose specific revenue figures, furniture remains the primary driver of sales for Ikea India’s operations. Ikea for Business contributed 19% to total sales, demonstrating a 20% year-over-year growth.Food sales accounted for around 10% of the total.
Ikea’s Strategy in the Indian Market
