Teen Gunman Dead After Illinois Hostage Situation
A 19-year-old gunman is dead following a hostage situation involving his family in Polo, Ill., on Saturday night. Ogle County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the community, located about 100 miles west of Chicago.
Sheriff Brian vanvickle said that upon arrival, deputies learned the suspect had shot one person and was holding other family members hostage. The hostages escaped before law enforcement entered the home.
