Rie Muranaka Profile

Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1958. After studying psychology and children’s literature ⁤at university and graduate school, she met children in the ​pediatric ward ​at the university hospital where she worked. ⁣Since ‍then, they have continued to ⁢read picture books together. Children’s literature author and ⁣former professor at Notre Dame ⁣Seishin Women’s University.

​ Notable works ⁤include: ⁣”Let’s⁤ read picture ​books with children” (Budosha), “Read ⁢picture books ⁤with the elderly” (Budosha),⁣ “What you can see from ‍reading picture books together” (Budosha), “Fraying the heart, a repair shop.” (Crayon House), “Onee-chan” (Ronrysha: Noma Children’s​ Literature Award Winner), “Unko Diary”⁢ (BL Publishing), ‌”Kutsushita no Hara” (Japanese Standard), and many others.
