The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), managing $55 billion, is expanding its investment portfolio with a $300 million allocation to both private equity and real estate. This strategic move includes an investment in Hamilton Lane for private markets portfolio management software.
A significant portion, $125 million, is earmarked for Blue Owl Real Estate Fund VII.This value-add fund focuses on diverse property sectors across North America. IMRF’s total commitment to Blue Owl/Oak Street strategies now stands at $275 million,as the fund aims to raise $6.5 billion.
In the realm of private equity, IMRF has committed $75 million to three Khosla Ventures funds: Fund IX, Seed G, and Prospect III. This continues IMRF’s support for the minority-owned venture firm, bringing its total investment in Khosla strategies to $92.6 million. These strategies target AI, fintech, robotics, and healthcare innovation.
