South Korean golf icon Inbee Park has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the International golf Federation (IGF), effective immediately. Park, a seven-time major champion and Olympic gold medalist, brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to growing the sport globally. Her appointment was announced on December 15, 2023.
park’s nine-year tenure on the Athletes Committee, coupled wiht her success in elevating the profile of women’s golf, positioned her as a key candidate for this role.She is widely recognized for her contributions to the sport both on and off the course.
Park’s Vision for Global Golf Development
Inbee Park articulated her goals for the position, stating, “Based on my experience so far, I will do my best in my role for the development of global golf, including strengthening the global awareness of golf at the Olympics, which is an area of interest, developing youth revelation and support programs, and popularizing golf.”
Her focus areas align with the IGF’s broader mission to expand golf’s reach and accessibility, especially among youth and women.
