The event was attended by Jung-gu Council Chairman Lee Jong-ho, lawmakers Han Chang-han and Kim Gwang-ho, and Jung-gu Mayor Kim Jeong-heon.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Lee Jong-ho introduced badminton as “a national sport that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere as long as you have a racket and a shuttlecock,” and mentioned the performance of Ahn Se-young, who has recently achieved great results in world competitions, showing that national interest in badminton is growing. He said he was happy.
He continued, “Badminton is a sport that shares the affection between family and neighbors, breaks down barriers between generations, and strengthens communication in the community,” and emphasized that the value of badminton shines even brighter thanks to the passion and efforts of its members.
Meanwhile, this competition was a fierce competition from the preliminaries to the finals with enthusiastic support from local residents.
The participants showed off their honed skills and performed passionately with lively steps and powerful smashes, receiving great applause from the audience.
