Incheon Seafood Gets a Clean Bill of Health: 41 Items Pass Safety Test with Flying Colors
Incheon City Ensures Safety of Marine Products
Incheon City has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of marine products caught from fish farms and coastal waters in the region. From January to October this year, the Incheon City Fisheries Technology Support Center collected 41 items and 221 samples of marine products and conducted thorough investigations.
Comprehensive Safety Investigations
The investigations included 94 items, such as radioactivity, heavy metals, antibiotics, and banned substances. The results confirmed that all items met safety standards. Additionally, the analysis of shellfish toxins that can cause food poisoning showed that all samples met safety standards.
Radiation Surveys and Safety Measures
Since April 2021, Incheon City has been conducting radiation surveys every month, following the announcement of the plan to discharge contaminated water from Japanese nuclear power plants. This proactive approach demonstrates the city’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its marine products.
