Teh 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 8. This edition will follow a similar format to the 2024 tournament held in the USA and West Indies,featuring 20 teams divided into five groups of four.
Group Stage
The group stage will consist of three matches per day. India has been grouped with the USA, Netherlands, Namibia, and Pakistan. Their schedule is as follows:
- February 7: vs. USA in Mumbai
- February 12: vs. Namibia in Delhi
- February 18: vs. Netherlands in Ahmedabad
A highly anticipated match is the India vs. Pakistan contest, marking the first meeting between the two teams since three heated encounters at the 2025 Asia Cup. This match will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium.
Tournament Format
The top two teams from each of the five groups will advance to the Super Eight stage. These teams will then be divided into two groups of four. the top two teams from each Super eight group will qualify for the semi-finals, culminating in the final.

potential Playoff Venues
If India progresses through the group stage, their Super Eight matches will be held in Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata. Should they reach the semi-finals, the match will be played in Mumbai. The final is slated for Ahmedabad,but could be moved to Colombo if Pakistan qualifies.
The ICC is considering Colombo or Kolkata as the venue for the second semi-final, depending on the qualification status of Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
